Orange employees ‘SPARKLE’ at the New Year celebrations

The Orange 2006 New Year parties were developed with the Orange values in mind and we developed a festive theme which promoted these values in an imaginative, exciting and energising way.
We developed a theme for the Orange New Year parties that would be inspirational and stimulating to their guests, one that would capture employee imagination and appeal to a much wider audience.
We were also very keen to energise the response and attendance of this year’s parties as the previous year was restricted by funding, producing a poor response and attendance at the events. With this in mind we wanted to make the Orange employees feel special, feel alive and appreciated for all their hard work. We wanted the Orange employees to ‘SPARKLE’.
With 11 parties throughout the UK and guests ranging from 65 – 1,200 it was imperative that the parties were geographically feasible to further ensure the high attendance without unrealistic expenditure. The Sparkle theme was very easily implemented across all venues and no-matter the number of delegates, they all shone.
We developed an intensive internal marketing campaign to raise the expectations of the New Year parties and create a buzz that they were going to be ‘the best yet’.
The campaign worked well and the end result showed a massive uplift in attendance figures and of employee satisfaction.
The events were held in January/February rather than December with the idea of having more spending power with venues and suppliers. The date was also driven by the notion that the parties did not want to get ‘lost’ with the Christmas scene and having parties in Jan/Feb would lift employees spirits during the early stages of the year, starting the year on a positive and lively note, and taking this enthusiasm deep into the New Year.
To ensure that employees didn’t lose the Christmas buzz, during the run up to the Christmas period Corportae innovations provided each employee with a hamper that was delivered direct to the Orange offices.
The New Year parties were a great success. Orange received a very high attendance at all events and the hampers were an unexpected surprise and helped motivate the team leading up to the Christmas break.
