Everyone is becoming more and more aware of how their actions can impact the environment and now Corporate Innovations can offer you a way to off-set carbon emissions produced by your events.

Corporate Innovations has teamed up with The Woodland Trust, Tree Appeal and Climate Care enabling us to offer a wide range of ways to off-set your carbon emissions including; funding sustainable energy projects, rainforest restoration and tree planting in a woodland of your choice.

A recent customer, National Accident Repair Centres (NARS) were set an objective as a business to reduce their overall energy costs and deliver a clear ‘green’ message to their employees. As their event supplier, they asked Corporate Innovations to help support this objective.

They opted to support Tree Appeal and wanted to pledge trees in their local area. Tree Appeal uses the local knowledge and expertise of tree planting partners to ensure the right trees are planted in the appropriate places. All trees are planted in reserves and managed woodland where they will live their natural lifespan and meet their biodiversity targets.

During their annual incentive trip we calculated the total amount of carbon dioxide produced by the flights, helicopters and ground transportation that was used throughout the trip and were able to plant trees to offset these emissions. Each tree planted by NARS off-set environmental impact by ‘breathing’ in about 730kg of carbon dioxide emissions over it’s lifetime.

A presentation of the certificate and dedication to NARS was made at their Annual Sales Conference where the company’s ‘green’ objectives, and success of the incentive trip, were shared with all Centre Managers.

Chairman of NARS Michael Wilmshurst said “Our business model naturally uses a lot of energy and we wanted to deliver a green message to employees and our customers. One of the key messages of our company incentive was that we had to set a good example and offsetting the carbon emissions from our conference was an excellent way of achieving this”.
